We owe a great debt to all of the vendors, buyers and especially volunteers who have made such a positive difference for the people and animals suffering from the oil spill in the Gulf. Many deep and heartfelt thanks to all of you.

yay!! We actually have enough in the account for another $500 donation to the National Wildlife Federation, too, but the minimum donation on their paypal donation form is $1000, so we need to raise a bit more before I can make the next payment to them. But YAY!!! :-)

Everyone, I have AMAZING super exciting news!!

We just passed the $1,000 mark!!! YAY!!

I'm going to make the first $500 donation to Oxfam (every time we get to $1000, I'll make two $500 donations to the two charities) but I want to wait on the National Audubon Society, since they still haven't given us permission to fundraise for them. Hopefully they'll come through tomorrow! I've been pestering them with phone calls quite a bit :)

I'll post a copy of my receipt here on the blog when I make the Oxfam donation. Thank you again to everyone who has donated, purchased and helped spread the word!! I think this is proof that we're already making a difference!

Hi everyone!

So many people have offered to help, I thought it might be a good idea to list a few things I could use some help with if anyone wants to take on one of these tasks :)

-Updating the tumblr blog with new listings
-Updating this blog with news about the Gulf Coast, featured items from the shop and links to treasuries or blog posts
-Updating the Facebook page
-Answering questions in the shop forum thread

Everyday we see the In's and Outs of life and how we sometimes get numb to the things around us and seems we are all in our own little world

BUT then something like this happens and it pulls us all together from AROUND the WORLD we unite and help others in a time of great need and sorrow.

It is too bad that we cannot seem to get our World Leaders to come together and bring World Peace to all so that we might be united together everyday and make this a better place to live.

If we could be this way everyday then maybe we would not need to drill out so deep in the ocean for oil and such and things like this would not happen.So many lives that have been lost would not have happened.

I cry for those families that lost their love ones to this tragic event and how they must feel as they watch this everyday.
